Reflective Practice Supervision

Clinical work can move quickly. Reflective practice creates time to notice what happened, what shaped your response and what you might do differently next time — without reducing supervision to a checklist.

The right fit

Who this service is for

Social workers and clinicians who want a consistent space to examine their professional responses, therapeutic relationships and evolving practice. It can complement an existing supervisory relationship where appropriate.

In supervision

What we can explore

01

The practitioner in the work

Examine how assumptions, reactions and professional values influence clinical choices.

02

Therapeutic relationships

Think about alliance, ruptures, boundaries and conversations that remain difficult to make sense of.

03

Learning from practice

Identify patterns across cases and translate reflection into considered changes in approach.

Areas of development

  • Greater awareness of clinical responses
  • Curiosity about uncertainty
  • Thoughtful boundary-setting
  • More intentional professional growth

What a session may involve

You may bring a de-identified interaction that stayed with you. The conversation can explore what you noticed, how you understood it at the time and what other perspectives might reveal.

Reflective practice supervision is professional consultation, not personal therapy. If it is additional to formal supervision, it does not automatically replace or satisfy a required supervisor-of-record relationship.

Location & format

Edmonton and across Alberta
